Derwent Primary School Uniform

Our School uniform helps to give an identity and the children a sense of pride in our School.

Sweatshirts, Cardigans, PE T-shirts, book/PE bags and caps with the school logo on are available to purchase from our uniform supplier ‘Beat School Uniform’ directly online at https://beatschooluniforms.co.uk/schools/derwent_lower_school_/ or in their shop based in Hitchin. (Address details can be found on their website). Beat School Uniform is the only provider to stock Derwent uniform.

As a school, our expectation is that the children will wear sweatshirts and cardigans with the school logo.

P.E. Kit

Children will need the following items for PE:

  • Black Shorts
  • Burgundy T-Shirt with the Derwent Logo
  • Black Trainers
  • School jumpers or maroon jumpers/hoodies can be worn

We would also recommend that you purchase shin pads for your child for when they learn sports such as hockey and football.

For health and safety reasons children are not permitted to wear earrings for PE. Your child’s teacher will advise you when PE lessons take place so that earrings can be removed.

Children should bring their named PE kit into school at the start of each Term.  We encourage you to keep your child’s PE kit in school so that it is available if there are any changes to the PE timetable.  Kits can be taken home at half term for washing.

For outdoor work, track suits may be worn but are not a necessity.  Verrucas should be covered during P.E. lessons.  Earrings should not be worn.  Long hair should be tied back.

General Information:

Only the following items should be branded with the Derwent logo. Please note, we do not accept any other branding.

  • The maroon v-neck jumper (Years 5 and 6)

PLEASE ENSURE ALL CLOTHING & POSSESSIONS ARE CLEARLY NAMED and encourage your child to dress him/herself from an early age, even though it takes them a little longer than with your help.
