CLERK TO GOVERNORS
(Experience essential)

Salary Scale: £100 per meeting plus appropriate fees for other agreed activities.
(approximately 14 meetings per year)
Derwent and Southill Federation is seeking an organised individual with good interpersonal and communication skills to support the work of the governing body. Experience of governance, including ensuring all the legal processes are followed is desirable. The Clerk will be accountable to the governors, working with them, the Chair of Governors committee chairs and the Executive Headteacher
Duties will include attendance and minute taking at governors’ meetings and the preparation and electronic distribution of agendas, minutes and documents for all meetings. Discretion, confidentiality and flexibility along with good IT skills are essential for this role.
This post is home based but will require an ability and willingness to visit the school to deal with administrative tasks in addition to attending meetings in person. You will also be expected to attend any relevant training events.
Please note there are usually six full governing body meetings per year and approximately eight sub-committee meetings. All meetings are held during term time at Derwent Primary School, usually during late afternoon or early evening and meetings generally last two hours.

TEACHING ASSISTANT
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated TA (with midday duties) based at Derwent Primary School
Full-time permanent contract Monday - Friday 8.45am-3.30pm (31.25 hours a week) with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
Level 2A point 3 £12.85ph (£24,796 per annum, pro-rata)

Person Specification
- Experience with supporting children in a learning environment
- Demonstrated enthusiasm and empathy in providing for children with additional needs in mainstream education
- A keenness to work closely with colleagues in a nurturing SEN provision on a mainstream school site
- Recent experience in working in the primary classroom
- Some knowledge of phonics
- Good knowledge of parent and report feedback including liaising with SLT and the SENCO

SEND 1:1 TEACHING ASSISTANT
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated SEN 1:1 TA based at Derwent Primary School
Fixed-Term full time contract Level 2A point 3 (£24,796.00 per annum, pro-rata)
Monday-Friday 31.25 hours a week 8.45am - 3.30pm
Purpose of the role:
To support a child with medical and communication difficulties. The child has a tracheostomy and will need 1:1 supervision. Full training will be given and support will be provided throughout.
Main Responsibilities:
- Checking and carrying a suction unit and nebuliser which needs to be with the child at all times.
- Gastrostomy feeding (including medications if required)
- Chest physiotherapy daily
- Some toileting support - getting on and off the toilet
- Helping to communicate the child’s needs.
- Providing medical intervention as necessary.
- Liaison with: SENCO, Head Teacher, Class teachers, Deputy Head and other support staff, which may include outside agencies, e.g. Speech and Language Therapists, Educational Psychologists on behalf of the SENCo should the need arise.
- The TA will ensure that the pupil can integrate as fully as possible in the activities generally undertaken by the other children in the class and make progress.
- Duties will include running specific programmes and activities to assist the pupils’ individual learning and social needs. The TA will be responsible for implementing the targets on the pupils Individual Education Plan (IEP) in liaison with the class teachers and the SENCo
