Welcome to Voles Class
Hello and welcome to Year 3
Voles Class teacher is Ms Teale and the Mice Classroom has group work daily taught by Miss Fox. Our classrooms are bright and well-resourced and located in our lovely new Buttercup teaching block. We have designated ‘Reading Corners’ and a wonderful outdoor space, which is attached to our classroom. We use this to extend our learning, particularly in the spring and summer terms. We also have the special area marked out for invasion games which is right outside our classrooms!
We are taught English and mathematics every day. All of the remainder of the curriculum is taught through specific subject lessons
Some of our subjects are taught by specialist staff including, Spanish and Art and Design Technology . We have two weekly PE lessons and the timetable for these slots is shared on Class Dojo, so please make sure the children come to school dressed in their PE kit on these days.
Our homework consists of weekly spellings, mathematics tasks linked to the current learning and TT Rockstars (by the end of Year 4 all learners are expected to know their times tables up to 12 x 12). We are also encouraged to read with an adult at least four times a week at home and books are tracked and logged in reading records in school. We still have phonics decodables for all pupils to make sure everyone has a chance to decode confidently as we go up in KS2.
