Welcome to Foxes Class.
Miss Byrne is our class teacher and Mrs Currey supports us throughout the week during the afternoons and two mornings.
We enjoy our busy, fun-filled and learning rich timetable which includes Maths and Literacy, along with Big Maths which we enjoy every Thursday morning and Big Writing which we love to do on Fridays. All our other subjects are taught through an exciting thematic approach, and we link our learning wherever we can across the curriculum. We have swimming lessons every Monday alongside PE at least once during the week. Please ensure kit is in school at all times as sometimes we do extra PE sessions and participate in sports festivals.
Currently, one Learning Log task is set weekly from any curriculum area. This is in addition to weekly spelling practise including a challenge, daily reading and sentence work. By the end of Year 4 all learners are expected to know their times tables up to 12 x 12. Below is our maths strategies booklet which shows you how we are taught at school so that you can support us at home.
As Year 4s, we take on lots of exciting roles of responsibility through our monitor jobs. We all get chance to be Friendly Foxes, helping others on the playground in a variety of way. This includes being Music Monitors for assembly, Fruit Monitors distributing fruit to Key Stage 1 or Foundation Stage and many more besides!
Our termly and yearly plans are below:
